Ubuntu Conversions
Decided to put Ubuntu 6.10 on the laptop. I had Fedora Core 3 on it before, a hold back from work, but I haven't used it for years since I couldn't get the WiFi adapter working and a computer isn't very useful without network access. Spent a bit more than a day getting the wireless adapter to work. Even with a couple of online guide to help, it was still painful to setup. Still have to make it useful, but it's a start.
Comments:
I booted up the live cd on my work laptop yesterday out of boredom. Man do I ever hate that brown colour scheme. They couldn't have picked a worse one.
Yeah. The brown/orange colour scheme doesn't work for me either. It's one of the first things I'm going to change once I get NFS working so I have access to all the graphics and stuff off my server.
