10 things I still don't under stand after 28 years of living
1) boys/men. They claim they are easy to understand. They are lying, they make no sense. They all claim they only want sex booze and food, but they are lying about that too.
2) cruelty I can't bring myself to kill a fly let alone pull of it's wings or try and burn it with a magnifying glass
3) the need to kill something and keep its head as a trophy. This just makes no sense
4)People who don't like chocolate. Something is wrong with these people (those with allergy excluded).
5) why anyone would want a dog over a cat. Cats can be so mean as a part of their personality, you can train a dog to be mean but they so loving and they tend to be happier cuddling than plotting.
6) Racism
7) not wanting to go to France, if the trip is free. (okay his is new, a guy at work is not willing to I just don't get turning down free travel.
8) Hatred. There are lots of people in this world that I dislike, and even more that I cannot understand their basic logic, but hating is something different.
9)The point between life and death. I know what life is, I know what death is, but its the transision that gets me. I don't try to explain this, cause I do understand what the science is behind it. But the loss of conscience.
10)Romance novels (the sappy ones, this maybe the result of never truly being in love can't say for sure.)
Re: Cats - Cats are to dogs as real humans with deep personalities are to simple-minded affection robots.
Re: Romance Novels - Just word porn. Nothing wrong with it, it's just kind of banal.
4. Now, I'm not one of them, but then again, personal tastes. Some people just don't like sweets or overly sugary stuff.
5. I assume you mean "why anyone would want a cat over a dog?" I'm a cat person. I appreciate a cat's independance and it's ability to think for itself. I don't consider the fact it has a mind of it's own "plotting". I guess if you're looking for a pet to look up to you, dogs are probably your thing.
7. I have a friend that's absolutely terrified to leave his space (apartment). When he leaves, he feels insecure (even when he's just going to my house). Some people need it, they have to be around familiar things. The unknown scares the hell out of them. Going to France, even for free, is scary for some people too.
9. I don't think about it. When it's my time, I'll find out :-p
10. I second Al's sentiments on this one.
And Dogs rock...cats are deadly (seriously though they are)
5. I'm a cat person. I tend to like their independence better. Some cats are actually very happy. Also, I tend to think that they are more clever than dogs usually.
7. I'd probably do something dumb like this. Even if it's free it still costs time and a change of climate which some people just can't stand.
9. I always think of this as the feeling you get when you black out or drift into sleep but without any dreaming... just nothingness.
10. I agree... word porn.
i've had both most of my life, and every single day my dog would surprise me with how smart she was.
anyone who tries to say they aren't intelligent has never actually tried to understand them. it's really all in how you interact with them. give them a chance to prove their cleverness. you'll be surprised, i assure you.
even my hampster was friggen smart.
