Was at the Noodle House today for lunch and the place was packed. The poor owners have gone from being subjected to idiotic teenage thugs scaring away customers to being worked to death. Memo to all of Charlottetown: They've had great food there all along, you know. I've linked to it already, but there are now more nice heartfelt messages at the SupportTheNoodleHouse.org web site.
Today the Vatican released a statement condemning the death of Terri Shiavo as 'arbitrarily hastened'. Meanwhile, the Pope has said that he doesn't want to be hospitalized when his time comes, that he would rather die peacefully in the Vatican. Irony is too kind a word.
The new album by Kathleen Edwards, Back to Me, is excellent. But it's very similar to her first album both musically and lyrically, mostly more of the same. Lots of songs about petty criminal boyfriends and wollowing in sad circumstances. Perhaps she needs to go on another soul-searching adventure to find new material to write about, being the daughter of a Canadian diplomat and growing up in Switzerland apparently didn't fuel her creativity so she had to live in the middle of nowhere in Northern Ontario. That gave her enough material about how life is shit for her first two albums. Perhaps her next one will be about something new.
Myron's better open up again soon. Last Saturday on my way home from Kim's birthday party I saw a line outside of Baba's that was twice as big as the number of people who can fit in the place at a time. And as Taylor has said, 95% of the pregnancies in Charlottetown happen because of Myron's. This could do serious damage to the city's future population.
