Wallflowers @ Apple Campus Bash - WWDC 2005
Apple really knows how to throw a good bash. They piled us all in busses and carted us down to Cupertino for the evening. We got to wander around the open areas, see the different areas where they make the various parts of the Mac and OS X.
They also had free food and beverages, and The Wallflowers played, which is pretty cool in itself.
There is a tree in the middle of the campus that I became fascinated with, thinking of how many smart people must have sat under it and what ideas that tree had a hand in creating. I bet that tree is actually smarter than I am by now.
When we got back to SF we went out with a couple of Apple developer relations people from Scotland and had a bit of an international connection.
They had an on-campus Apple store at Infine Loop, but the line was huge. Thanks to jason who took one for the team and stood in line for us. He picked me up a T-Shirt that says "Air, Water, UNIX" on the front and has an Apple logo on the back. Apparently that store is the only place where you can get authorized Apple merch. Very cool
