Apple IIGS: My First Computer
I've talked about the Apple IIGS in this post: “Online Apple IIGS Emulator!!!”, but never showed a picture of it. Here it is:
Back then Macintoshes were black and white, and PCs only had DOS. The IIGS also had the best keyboard of any computer I've ever used. It had a six-in-one productivity program, AppleWorks GS that fit on a single 800k 3.5" floppy. (the extra 80k storage squeezed into a standard double densiy 3.5" disk comes from Steve Wozniak being an utter genius and accomplishing some wizardry with the drive head.)
It's a shame Woz didn't seem to put much stock in teh importance of fast processors, or the thing might have been a little more popular.
