I think in the early 90s Disney did own the Jim Henson studio, before they sold it to some German company. This wasn't too bad, actually, this is when they made the show Dinosaurs, which IMO is very underrated.
Unfortunately Disney has lost its soul long ago, and will probably just use the property to churn out many mindless sequels like they do with Winnie the Pooh. On the other hand, if they come out with something as good as Dinosaurs again, it's better than nothing.
