Douglas Adams wrote a few episodes of Dr. Who, one of which was never completed filming. But the BBC has released a Flash-animated version, which is actually a rather good audio drama in itself. It seems that Adams re-used some of the characters and plot from this lost episode in his novel Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Pity about the limitations of the medium: Flash just cannot convey the awe and mystery of an alien landscape the way a disused quarry near London can.
